Climate Change: Meeting The Global Challenge

Addressing global climate change is the challenge of our generation, and requires serious commitment by all members of the world community, not just a handful of nations, or a single sector of our economies. Over the course of a climate change symposium in Namibia, Africa, Tom Mullikin and other participants discuss the means by which we might craft solutions that protect the global environment, rather than simply shift emissions from industrialized to industrializing nations.

Climate Change: Global Problems Global Solutions

America's heightened awareness of the phenomenon of global climate change has led to increasing pressure on the institutions of our society to react. Politicians are rushing to adopt any plan that demonstrates to voters that they care about greenhouse gases, without giving any serious consideration to the effect of local policies on total global greenhouse gas emissions. This documentary follows Tom Mullikin, environmental attorney and public policy expert, and Dr. Robert A. Thomas, Director of the Center for Environmental Communications at Loyola University New Orleans, on a research expedition to Antarctica to see first hand the impact of climate change on the Antarctic, and to reflect on the problems surrounding the implementation of sound social policy to address global climate change in a way that demands total accountability from all members of the world community.
